Cannabis in Commerce – Navigating Opportunities and Risks

A DCA Insights conversation with Steve Levine, Ken Condren, and Eric Meth, leaders in the cannabis and derivatives sector.

Cannabis and its derivatives are a $10 billion+ annual market in the U.S., and mainstream companies are increasingly looking to be involved in the market.  Even companies not selling cannabis products are likely to find themselves involved in the market simply by providing products or services to companies who do – e.g., ad-tech, payment processing, financial services, software and other common services.  While cannabis, THC and related products are entering the mainstream of commerce, their legal and reputational status is far from clear.  State-level “legalization” doesn’t resolve ongoing Federal issues, and companies dealing with cannabis – even at a distance – need to closely consider the implications for insurance policies, financing obligations, government contracting, PR risk, customer risk and more.

SPEAKERS

Steve Levine – Partner, Husch Blackwell

Ken Condren – Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer, Alleaves

Eric Meth – Chief Revenue Officer, Surfside
