What is the Digital Commerce Alliance (DCA)?

DCA is the newly launched global non-profit trade association focused on driving the future of commerce by promoting collaboration, technology standards and education in the areas of fin-tech, card-linking, mobile wallets and financial data. The association serves members consisting of executives from:

  • tech/fin-tech companies
  • retailers/merchants
  • banks/financial institutions, card issuers
  • payment companies including mobile wallets
  • financial data companies
  • card-linking\loyalty companies

DCA member companies represent the largest and most innovative companies in these segments including Bank of America, Rakuten, FIS, Discover, Transunion, Augeo/Figg, LoyaltyOne Airmiles, Microsoft, Collinson and Fidel among others.

Why was DCA created?

The DCA’s motto is  “Trade for Good.” The  motto sums up our mission in three simple words.  DCA is a  trade association vested in driving the future of commerce, or trade, by making it a better, more friction free, experience for all parties, including consumers.

The Digital Commerce Alliance was formed to address the growing needs of commerce executives to enable the innovative and measurable experiences consumers demand. DCA  provides services including digital commerce forums, curated partner introductions, podcasts  plus news and industry research.

The DCA was created by The CardLinx Association (now the CardLinx Forum) founded in 2014 and representing 6 million merchants, 1.9 billion payment cards, 200 million card-enabled accounts and 700 million active daily users.

What are the other two divisions?

The Digital Commerce Alliance includes three distinct divisions, each with a best-practice digital commerce focus:

1) The CardLinx Forum drives interoperability and the elimination of friction in the card-linking and card-linked offers industry.

2) Mobile Wallet Forum advances collaborative partnerships for the next generation of mobile commerce.

3) Financial Data Forum promotes standardization and best practices for financial data transparency, security and interoperability.

Each of the subsidiary divisions offer a host of programs pertaining to their focus, including online/in–person collaborative conferences, interactive webinars, and access to best practices education, technical certification, and technical standards work groups.

When was DCA launched?

DCA announced its formation on January 2021 via news release and the launch of its website.

Who is expected to join the DCA?

Leaders  and executives worldwide from multiple disciplines involved in digital commerce (online and offline) including:

  • banks/financial institutions, card issuers

Who’s behind the new association’s creation?

DCA was created by The CardLinx Association which was founded by Silvio Tavares, who serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the DCA.

The DCA is governed by a board of directors comprised of executives from the following companies:

Where’s the new association based?

DCA’s offices are located in the Silicon Valley area of California.

How much does it cost to join the DCA?

Annual membership fees are based on the level of membership. DCA Board Level membership is $39,500 annually. DCA Member membership is $9,500 annually. View our membership page for more details.

Am I eligible for a discounted membership?

2 Year Discount – All members receive a 10% discount if they select a two year term.

Multi-Membership Discount – Any member that joins more than one division receives a 20% discount on their total membership fee.
